Pro Surfer Bobby Martinez - Surf, Fight, Train 2015! Video
Check out the homie Professional Surfer Bobby Martinez, as he talks about how he began his Jiu Jitsu Journey after competitive surf. For those who do not know Bobby Martinez, Bobby is from Santa Barbara, CA and Surfed On the Pro Surf Tour for 6 years before his official retirement, always one to speak his mind and never one to cower, goofy foot (Surfing with the left foot on the back of board (less common than regular foot). Bobby surfed like a wild man, with no regard, he finished seventh in the world during his rookie year. Bobby went on to win Teahupoo and Mundaka twice.
Now onto his new journey: Jiu Jitsu!
Bobby has always lived an active lifestyle, taking up Boxing on his down time from surf, he wanted to test himself and try something totally new, a few years later, now a blue belt, Bobby trains up to 5 times per week, with some surf and boxing sessions in between.
