The Latest American Black Belt Josh Cisneros (Elite Team - Professor Tom Knox) 2020!
MOYA Brand has yet another newly-promoted Black Belt in the scene! On
August 26, 2020, Joshua Cisneros earned his black belt from Professor
Tom Knox at Elite Team Visalia. At only 20 years old, Josh has already
been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for 8 years.
“I found
Jiu-Jitsu through my dad, who used to train under Royce Gracie almost 20
years ago,” Josh proudly exclaimed. After finding Elite Team Visalia,
Josh’s dad brought him to his first BJJ class to see if he would find a
liking to it. It didn’t take much to convince him to pursue this martial
art!
Currently, he is also in college studying business and
working part-time. The way he balances his schedule is by working early
morning, going to school in the afternoon, and then training throughout
the evening. Josh is able to train 1-2 times a day with his focus on
strategic competition situations and always looking for submissions. He
makes training his top priority by scheduling everything else around
Jiu-Jitsu. Still, he makes sure that he gets enough time to rest so his
body and mind don’t get too worn out with his hectic schedule.
“BJJ
has taught me how to be patient and to remain calm under stressful
situations,” Josh explained, “It also helped create my work ethic to be
the best at what I do and to perform with the best of my abilities!” As a
black belt, his goals are to win an IBJJF Gi and No-Gi Worlds title and
to also become an ADCC Champion. He is currently preparing for the
upcoming IBJJF Pan Americans that is scheduled for October 8-11, 2020.
