MOYA Brand is stoked to announce the Newest Edition to the Family: CHECKMAT Blackbelt Chico Mendes! Chico is a Blackbelt directly under Legendary Jiu Jitsu Practitioner Leo Vieira (CHECKMAT Co - Founder) and a native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Background:
After extensive seminars around the world and sharing the explosive CHECKMAT Style of Jiu Jitsu, Chico decided to make a life changing decision, not just for the Team but for his family (Father of 5) - Chico packed up all his belongings and relocated to England. While in England, Chico taught at a local Academy when an opportunity presented itself to establish his own Academy in Bristol England - accomplishing a lifetime dream. Chico is known as one of the Pioneers of Checkmat, establishing the Team throughout Europe. Chico currently has affiliations across Europe including: United Kingdom, Poland, Greece, Germany, Cyprus, Spain and Switzerland.

Chico is currently in the USA competing and instructing seminars across the US. In 2016 alone, Chico has competed and placed in the following tournaments:
14 medals in less than 2 months!!!!
